The Leadership Team
Our Leadership Team is comprised of the Synod Officers which are the Moderator, Moderator Elect, the Moderator of the Mission and Ministries Commission, the Stated Clerk, and the Treasurer as well as the Synod Leader. They meet in between Commission and Assembly meetings, for decision-making and to provide guidance to staff.
Warren is the Moderator for the Synod of the Northeast. Currently he is the Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Newark and a Member of Prospect Church in Maplewood, New Jersey. A fourth-generation Presbyterian, Warren is a Ruling Elder. He has served in leadership positions throughout our denomination. He is working on a Master’s Degree in Religious Leadership and Administration at New York Theological Seminary.
The Rev. Thia Reggio
Thia is the Moderator of the Mission and Ministries Commission of the Synod of the Northeast. She is the Pastor of Astoria First Presbyterian Church in the Presbytery of New York City and is the Disaster Response and Resilience Coordinator for the Synod. Before ministry, she had a lengthy career as a management and communications consultant. She holds degrees from Union Theological Seminary, East Tennessee State University and Maria College.
Alan is the Synod Treasurer. He is a Ruling Elder and a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in the Presbytery of Elizabeth where he presently serves on the presbytery Cabinet and as president of the Board of Trustees.
In his non-church life, Alan is a consulting actuary specializing in group insurance and employee benefits. He is active in his community, having served as president of the United Way of Hunterdon County, as vice-chair of his local board of adjustment and planning board, and is an Eagle Scout with more than 50 years of tenure as a scout and volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.
THE REV. DR. HAROLD DELHAGEN
Harold is the Synod Leader and has been on staff since 2011. He comes to our community having served a variety of congregations and mid-councils in the Reformed Church in America and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). He is a member of Geneva Presbytery. His interests in the work with the Synod focus most keenly on leading change and leadership development. Harold holds degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary, New Brunswick Theological Seminary and Hope College. He enjoys fly fishing, backpacking and anything outdoors.
THE REV. NANCY TALBOT
Nancy is the Synod’s Stated Clerk. After a full secular career managing nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies, she answered a call to ministry. She was ordained as a Teaching Elder while developing a new spirituality program for people of all backgrounds, races and ethnicities at Bellevue Hospital Center. Previously serving as Interim Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of New York City, she remains a member of this presbytery. Nancy holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Boston University School of Social Work and Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York. She is a board member of The SpiritHouse Project and her passions include travel and music.
