Redesigning of PC(USA)'s the Mission Program Grants Office

The Mission Development Resources Committee (MDRC) has revised the Mission Program Grant programs to increase the number of new church development grants and to support presbyteries’ work in congregational transformation beginning in 2010. The strategic design encourages more local accountability, rewards risk taking, innovative thinking and enables greater flexibility in the tyupes of ministries that are considrered for Mission Program Grants.
Grant funding for new churches is funded in layers. First-Level Funding supports the first 18 months of ministry. Second-Level Funding is available for the next 30 months to new churches that have made significant process in reaching their goals and objectives. Grants at both levels are for up to $25,000.00.
Church
The Presbytery Grant for Congregational Transformation Program provides grants of up to $50,000.00 for two years in support of presbyteries in their work of continually transforming existing congregations. During 2010, this grant is being introduced as a pilot program and will be by invitation only.
