I-95 Corridor Presbyterian Immigrant Ministry Dialogue

The Synods of the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Trinity are co-sponsoring the I-95 Corridor Presbyterian Immigrant Ministry Dialogue beginning on 1:00pm on October 6th and conclude at 3:00pm on October 7th at the Princeton Presbyterian Church in Springfield, PA.  The dialogue is to bring church leaders together across three synods, including leaders from immigrant communities, to learn from one another and through the witness of identified leaders/presenters, and through dialogue groups and workshops, in order to improve church leaders’ total effectiveness in immigrant ministry.

The keynote speaker of the dialogue is Rev. Dr. Lucas de Paiva Pina.  Other resource people are Julia Thorne, Manager of Immigration Issues and Immigration Counsel for the General Assembly and Angel Suarez, Associate for Immigrant Ministries of the General Assembly.

The cost is $40 per person to help cover food cost and other expenses.  Each participant will be responsible for their own transportation and housing.  Local hotel list is available on the Presbytery of Philadelphia website.

Our objectives of the Dialogue gathering is to
• Share information about what we are doing in immigrant ministry
• Share strategies of what is working and what is not working
• To hear what is happening in different presbyteries concerning immigrant ministry
• To discover ways we can build partnerships 

Who is invited?
• Presbytery Executives
• Associate Executives and/or Presbytery Staff that works with immigrant ministry
• Presbytery committee, teams or task group leadership that work with immigrant ministry
• Immigrant Pastors or leadership
• Resource People for Immigrant Ministry 

Workshops:
This year we will have workshop and dialogue groups. A complete list of workshops and workshop leaders will be available by late August.
