The 9th annual Multicultural Conference will be held at the Hilton San Antonio Airport in San Antonio, Texas on April 9-10, 2008. The theme of the conference is "... Gather All Nations and Tongues: Good News for All Congregations...".
When you gather for the 2008 National Multicultural Conference, it will truly be as though Isaiah’s
call - for “all the nations and tongues” to gather and experience God’s Good News - will come
true. This year’s conference’s theme is unique and timely as it focuses on Evangelism in a multicultural
setting. Thus it addresses an urgent need for the whole church, in particular mainline denominations
as they struggle with finding new ways and meaningful approaches for communicating
the Gospel and reaching out to the increasing diversity in the American society.
Funding is available through the Synod of the Northeast by either the Mary Wallingford Fund or the Presby Langdon Fund. For information on either of these grants, please contact Cindy Cyr by phone at 315-446-5990/800-585-5881, Ext. 215 or by email

One of the keynote speakers is the Rev. Martha Grace Reese. Martha “gently but persistently
lures the Mainline back to the ministry of evangelism as the heart of the church,” “combining
research with warm stories of real people growing their churches in healthy ways.” She is
the President of Grace Net, Inc., which specializes in church consulting and coaching, and she is
the author of “Unbinding the Gospel: Real Life Evangelism,” of which each conference participant
will receive a copy in advance along with the confirmation letter. This is in addition to a great list
of the best practitioners in the field of multicultural ministries, church officials and variety of workshops
that addresses Evangelism and Church Growth in a growing multicultural world.
This year’s multicultural conference will also offer the following exciting opportunities:
- An evening in a local church — share supper, share stories, share strategies.
- Sunday morning worship at the conference hotel (with an awesome conference choir!) and Sunday morning worship in local churches!
- A “consulting time” when members of the Planning team, the Presbyterian Multicultural Network and the GAC Research Services will be available for one-on-one conversations, consultation, congregation and demographic research, problem-solving and network-building.
- A Saturday evening Multicultural Celebration that invites your joyful participation!
- Tai Chi at the pool before breakfast and a 12-step gathering each evening.
