The goal of Early Ministry Institute (EMI) is to help assure an effective and healthy ministry experience for the new pastor and the congregation. Through EMI the Presbytery and the Synod share a commitment to provide a personal support system and skills training in an environment where community is built among pastors. HOW IT WORKS
EMI is a cooperative effort in which the Minister attends the four day institute each Spring of the first 3 years of parish ministry. The Church Session participates by endorsing the pastor's participation and by providing necessary time, the modest tuition, and travel expenses. The Presbytery participates by encouraging eligible members to actively participate, and by maintaining annual financial support. The Synod participates by providing administrative functions for EMI and by underwriting financial support of the Design Team and the faculty.
The plans for the mission trip to New York City and the Broadway Play will be announced shortly.
